Fees for Prenatal, Birth, and Newborn Care

The cost for prenatal care, birth, and postpartum care for both you and your baby is $7200*. If you live more than 35 miles from the Birth House, we offer birth services at the Birth House.

A $1500 non-refundable retainer fee, which is applied to your balance, is due at your first visit.  We are only able to take a limited number of clients per due month and this fee reserves your spot on our calendar. A $300 fee, which is applied to your remaining balance, is due at each subsequent visit. The final balance is due by your 36th week of pregnancy. Sankofa Birth & Women’s Care will not go “on call” until the balance is paid in full, unless other arrangements have been made.

For insured clients, labs and ultrasounds may be billed directly to your insurance. For self-pay clients**, these costs will be paid directly to the practice or lab facility and to the doctor performing the ultrasound.

We offer waterbirth as an option ($350 includes pool purchase, liner and supplies, setup, cleaning, and removal). Lab work, placenta encapsulation, ultrasounds, and hospital costs (should you need to transfer during labor) are not included.

We accept cash, check, and credit card payments. We are not in network with any other major insurance carriers. As coverage for services varies from plan to plan, we recommend that you ask your insurance company directly what they will cover. We offer the options of providing a super bill following your 6 week postpartum visit for you to submit for possible reimbursement or having our biller submit to your insurance company**. We currently accept clients who have healthcare sharing programs. Payment plans, sliding scale, barters, and individualized plans are available as needed.

* Additional fees may apply based on individual health/birth history.
